Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Secondary Science Teacher at Edgewood-Colesburg High School, located in Edgewood, IA. The teacher will plan and deliver comprehensive science lessons for secondary-level students, focusing on fostering a deep understanding of subjects like physics and general science. Responsibilities include developing instructional materials, assessing student progress, supporting diverse learning needs, and encouraging critical thinking and exploration in the field of science. Additional duties may include participating in school events, collaborating with colleagues in curriculum development, and maintaining clear communication with students, parents, and staff. Qualifications Expertise in Science Education, including knowledge of general Science and Physics conceptsCertification or qualification as a teacher with a focus on secondary educationStrong verbal and written Communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleaguesPassion for teaching and the ability to foster curiosity and a love for learning in studentsFlexibility, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to working in a school environmentExperience in creating inclusive and engaging lesson plans tailored to diverse student needs is preferredBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field is required
