We ingest and store logs, metrics, traces, and events on an open, scalable data lakehouse, using open formats like Apache Iceberg, at dramatically lower cost. A dynamic Context Graph and chat-based AI SRE provide rich context and automated workflows so teams can move from detection to root cause and resolution 10x faster.As a Senior Product Designer, you'll own the experience for some of the most high-stakes, technically complex workflows in enterprise software. The kind where your design decisions directly affect whether an incident takes 15 minutes or 3 hours to resolve. Your users are SREs and platform engineers debugging critical failures at 2am. The work lives at the intersection of agentic AI, real-time data, and deeply technical user needs.This isn't a specs-execution role. You'll partner as a peer with product and engineering, shape design culture on a team being built from scratch, and help define what world-class observability UX looks like.ResponsibilitiesOwn end-to-end design for one or more Observe surfaces: AI SRE, APM, Metrics, Log/Trace Explorers, dashboards, or onboardingDefine interaction models for complex observability workflows; incident investigation, root cause analysis, service maps, and AI-assisted troubleshootingPrototype early and often using AI-enabled tools to validate ideas quickly and iterate with engineeringPartner with PM and engineering as a peer in shaping product direction, not just executing on specsContribute to and evolve Observe's design system and shared interaction patternsPresent work clearly to cross-functional stakeholders and incorporate feedback without losing design integrityHelp raise the bar for product designKeep abreast of competitor products and trends; perform competitive and comparative analysis to understand existing patternsRequirements5+ years of product design experience working on complex, data-heavy or developer-facing productsA strong eye for design, with deep care for layout, motion, affordances, and visual polishA design portfolio that showcases your ability to design software that is beautiful, powerful, and intuitiveComfort designing for technical users and engaging with engineers on implementation tradeoffsExperience with AI-native surfaces: chat interfaces, agent-driven workflows, or explainability and trust patternsA prototype-first mindset; you'd rather show it than describe itStrong communication skills and the ability to articulate design decisions to PMs, engineers, and leadershipBonus PointsBackground in or deep familiarity with observability, monitoring, or incident response workflowsExperience designing CLI-adjacent or developer tooling surfacesFamiliarity with Observability toolsPrior experience at a startup or acquisition-stage product teamYou have a deep desire to make things feel good, look awesome, and work great!Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth.
