Controls Technician – Mt. Pleasant, IAVenteon is currently seeking a Controls Technician for a manufacturing facility located in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.Position OverviewThe Controls Technician is responsible for supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical control systems and automated equipment within the manufacturing environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring equipment reliability, optimizing plant performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues by applying principles of electronics, electrical circuitry, and engineering fundamentals.Support maintenance and production teams in diagnosing and repairing control systems, PLCs, and automated equipment.Maintain and update electrical documentation, including schematics, P&IDs, IP addresses, and control system configurations.Coordinate and support equipment installations, upgrades, and startup activities in collaboration with internal and external engineering teams.Manage and implement changes to control systems, including software, logic, and network configurations.Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E and other applicable electrical safety standards.Assist in developing and maintaining preventive and predictive maintenance programs.Work closely with electricians and maintenance personnel to support daily plant operations and minimize downtime.Provide training and technical support to plant technicians on controls systems, networks, and infrastructure.Partner with IT to maintain reliable plant system connectivity and performance.Identify, track, and order critical spare parts to support equipment uptime.Drive continuous improvement by implementing effective electrical and controls solutions to enhance plant efficiency.Communicate technical findings, action plans, and project updates to leadership and cross-functional teams.QualificationsAssociate’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field preferredOR 5+ years of relevant maintenance/controls experience in lieu of a degreeMinimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a controls or maintenance role within a manufacturing environmentStrong experience with PLCs (such as Allen Bradley and Siemens) and electrical control systemsAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, power distribution layouts, and control diagramsWorking knowledge of motors, motor controls, HMIs, and industrial automation systemsExperience with AutoCAD for electrical drawings and documentation preferredStrong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skillsCompensation & BenefitsFull-time opportunity with advancement potentialComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coveragePaid time off and holidays401(k) with company matchRelocation assistance available for qualified candidates
