The team prides itself on nurturing and developing talent, offering close editing, feedback and clear opportunities for progression.Main ResponsibilitiesPitch and write engaging real estate stories for the Daily Mail, ranging from breaking news to in-depth, case-study-driven featuresContribute to Mail+ by producing original and consumer-focused real estate and personal finance coverageCover fast-moving developments in US housing, from the rise and fall of boomtowns to emerging hotspots, trends from both locally, regionally and nationally and notable or celebrity transactionsBuild and maintain a strong network of industry contacts, including agents, developers, analysts and economistsAnalyze data-heavy housing market reports to identify compelling trends and clear storylinesTranslate complex property and economic information into vibrant, accessible and accurate copyWork closely with the picture desk to select eye-catching imagery and commission graphicsTrack story performance and use audience data to refine pitches, headlines and formats Person SpecificationStrong interest in US housing markets and how real estate trends impact consumers' financial livesFamiliarity with local and national real estate databases and market reportsUnderstanding of how US businesses, lenders and developers operate - with a focus on consumer impact rather than financial marketsPassion for the Daily Mail brand, editorial voice and global audienceAt least five years' journalism experienceWorking knowledge of SEO, or a strong willingness to learn quicklyCollaborative, curious and comfortable working across teamsEnthusiasm for news in general and real estate and consumer journalism in particularOur CommitmentWe are committed to increasing diversity and maintaining an inclusive workplace culture.
