Position SummaryThe Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting, financial reporting, and internal control functions for Beef-a-Roo, Inc., a growing quick-service restaurant (QSR) brand. This role ensures accurate financial management across multiple restaurant locations, supports operational decision-making, and maintains compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The Controller will leverage systems including Acumatica, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Business Suite to streamline financial processes and reporting.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & ReportingOversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes across all restaurant locationsPrepare and analyze financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flowDeliver actionable insights on store-level performance, food/labor costs, and profitabilityDevelop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools using Microsoft Business SuiteAccounting OperationsManage general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll accounting, and fixed assetsEnsure accurate and timely reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and POS systemsMaintain and optimize accounting workflows within Acumatica and QuickBooksEnsure consistency in accounting practices across all locationsBudgeting & ForecastingLead annual budgeting process and rolling forecastsPartner with operations leadership to track KPIs such as food cost %, labor %, and sales trendsMonitor variances and recommend corrective actionsInternal Controls & ComplianceEstablish and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assetsEnsure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax/regulatory requirementsCoordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutionsMaintain documentation and audit readinessSystems & Process ImprovementOptimize use of Acumatica, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Business Suite for efficiency and scalabilityIdentify opportunities to automate reporting and reduce manual processesSupport integration of POS, inventory, and financial systemsTeam LeadershipLead and develop the accounting teamEstablish clear roles, performance expectations, and training plansCollaborate cross-functionally with operations, HR, and executive leadershipQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in QSR, restaurant, or multi-unit retailStrong experience with Acumatica, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Business Suite (Excel, Power BI, etc.)Deep understanding of cost accounting, inventory, and labor management in a restaurant environmentProven ability to manage multiple locations or entitiesStrong analytical, organizational, and leadership skillsKey CompetenciesFinancial analysis and strategic thinkingAttention to detail and accuracyProcess improvement mindsetCommunication and leadershipAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented QSR environmentPreferred ExperienceMulti-unit restaurant or franchise environmentExperience integrating POS systems with accounting platformsBackground in scaling financial systems for growthWhat Success Looks LikeAccurate, timely financial reporting across all locationsImproved visibility into store-level performance and profitabilityStreamlined accounting processes leveraging technologyStrong internal controls with minimal audit issuesA high-performing, accountable accounting teamBenefits:Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insurance
