This role provides hands-on experience with real-world engineering projects and offers the opportunity to develop technical and professional skills in a collaborative environment.Essential Job Functions Essential Job Functions: The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:Assist engineers with structural analysis and design tasksPrepare drawings and plans using Revit/AutoCAD under supervisionSupport project documentation, calculations, and report preparationConduct data entry, research, and basic engineering calculationsAssist with quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and completenessParticipate in team meetings and contribute to project discussionsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects and electrical and structural engineers to support coordinated design effortsMaintain organized project documentation and assist with internal quality control processesConduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standardsPursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awarenessWork in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concernsAdditional duties as requiredRequired Qualifications Currently working towards a degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related fieldAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented environmentAbility to meet quality standards and deadlinesInterest in developing Revit skillsBasic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Active and clear driver's license, including a successful clearance of a Motor Vehicle history checkPreferred Qualifications Previous internship or coursework related to structural designFamiliarity with engineering software or drafting toolsStrong organizational and communication skillsPhysical Requirements Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods while performing computer-based tasks, attending meetings, or preparing design documentationFrequent use of hands and fingers to operate computers, printers, and other office equipmentVisual acuity to review detailed drawings, specifications, and computer screens for extended periodsAbility to clearly communicate through speech, hearing, and written correspondence in person, virtually, and via telephoneAbility to travel to and from project sites, client meetings, and other offices as requiredPhysical capability to walk, stand, climb stairs or ladders, and navigate uneven terrain, active construction sites, and partially completed structuresAbility to occasionally lift and carry materials, drawings, or equipment weighing up to approximately 25 poundsCapacity to use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, vests, and steel-toed boots when requiredTolerance for varying environmental conditions, including exposure to weather, noise, and dust during site visitsWork Environment / Environmental Factors The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting with a collaborative, team-oriented atmosphereWork involves extensive use of computers, digital communication tools, and design software in an open or hybrid office environmentThis role requires frequent interaction with project teams, clients, consultants, and other stakeholders through in-person meetings, video conferences, and phone callsPeriodic travel to construction sites, client offices, and off-site meetings is requiredWork at project sites may involve exposure to active construction environments, including noise, dust, varying temperatures, and weather conditionsThe position requires adaptability to shifting project priorities, client expectations, and multidisciplinary coordinationWork may occasionally involve tight deadlines, multiple concurrent projects, and high attention to detail under time-sensitive conditionsCollaboration across multiple time zones or with remote team members may be necessary, depending on project scope and firm structureAdditional Information This can be a full-time or part-time, temporary position for the Summer of 2026, with typically standard working hours between 8am - 5pm, Monday through Friday. However, this position may require occasional extended hours to meet project milestones, deadlines, or client needs.This position is considered hybrid, with a 70% office presence, 10% site visits and/or client meetings, and 20% remote presence (ability to work from a home location). This arrangement is subject to review and may change based on project need or at the company's discretion.Anticipated Hiring Range $20 - $23 per hour. Please note that this range reflects the pay scale that Tetra Tech reasonably expects to pay for the role.
