Apply now.A Brief Summary Of This PositionThe Project Manager (PM) will identify key project milestones and develop a project timeline that support the defined project deliverables. The Project Manager owns identifying project risk and assessing that risk to develop appropriate and effective mitigation strategies. The PM will serve as a principal point of contact internally from the inquiry stage through the delivery and closeout of all orders related to each assigned customer account. The PM will coordinate efforts of the team members and any third party contractors or consultants in order to meet the project deliverables according to the project plan. The PM provides weekly project status updates to management and executive level of the Utility team.Essential FunctionsThis position reports to the Sr.Director of Inside Sales and has no reportsThis role requires up to 30% travel (domestically), including overnight staysDirect and manage project development from beginning to endDefine project scope, goals and deliverables that support the customer requirements, business goals, and project marginConduct risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategiesIdentify key project milestones and develop a project timeline and management planDevelop full scale project plans and associated communications documentsProactively administer contract documents and requirements to control liquidated damage impactsForecast material and resource requirements and manage project team members to meet these requirementsCommunicates with customer, when appropriate, on impacts to schedule and documents changes internally and externallySet and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stake holdersIdentify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project teamIdentify and manage project dependencies and critical pathPlan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate toolsTrack project milestones and deliverablesCoordinate the development and delivery of progress reports, requirements documentation and any presentationsProactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plansDefine project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project lifecycleCoach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned workProvides weekly project updates and reports so as to effectively communicate project status to Sales Director, Site GM and Project Administration ManagerBuild, develop and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the projectConduct project post mortems and create recommendations report for future project successesDevelop best practices and tools for project execution and managementRequired Qualifications Of Every CandidateBachelor’s Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience or Associate’s Degree with 8 years of relevant experience or 10 years of relevant experienceAbility to define measurable project goals and identify potential project schedule risks and cost adherenceProficient in defining and using Critical Path Methodology (CPM)Proficient in defining project activity constraints and assumptionsAbility to develop schedules that integrate dependent and independent activities, including start-end time dependencies and time/cost estimates for activitiesAbility to effectively communicate at all levels of the Valmont organization, including customers and third party contractors or consultantsDemonstrate strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skillsDemonstrate ability to use independent judgment and discretionAbility to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Maintain daily project event logs and effectively develop both written and oral project status informationModels cooperative and team building communication skillsAll MS Office Suite programs and General computer knowledgeHighly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These QualificationsProject Management Professional (PMP) certificationAbility to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Maintain daily project event logs and effectively develop both written and oral project status informationModels cooperative and team building communication skillsProficient in isolating and in managing scope creepThe ability to identify opportunities for improved project performanceUnderstanding contract terms and associated risksUnderstanding standard cost accounting methodsUndertaking project profitability analysisAbility to manage a project team in a matrix organizationMS Project or other scheduling program experienceBenefitsValmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family’s overall wellness needs are met.
