Accountant
Overview:The Accountant is responsible for supporting a broad range of accounting and finance functions, including accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and budget analysis. This role ensures accurate financial records, supports forecasting activities, and contributes to overall financial integrity and compliance.Responsibilities:Manage accounting processes, including general ledger (GL), profit and loss (P&L), and balance sheet activitiesPerform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy by reviewing and correcting discrepanciesMaintain compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirementsOversee financial systems and reporting, including trial balance, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, AR/AP aging, payroll, and sub-ledger reconciliationsAnalyze financial results, monitor variances, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to managementEnhance efficiency through process improvements and automation of accounting workflowsEnsure all supporting documentation (invoices, receipts, reports) is accurate, complete, and properly approvedManage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice processing, payments, and reporting (daily, weekly, monthly)Lead month-end close activities, including accruals, prepaid schedules, and vendor account reconciliationsProcess Medicaid payments on a monthly and quarterly basisConduct GL account and trend analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend solutionsMaintain fixed asset schedules and calculate depreciationProvide cross-functional support for accounts receivable, including invoicing, cash application, collections, and account reconciliationEnsure timely completion of all accounting activities in alignment with the financial close calendarPrepare and maintain accounting records and support the preparation of year-end consolidated financial statementsPerform monthly variance analysis across expenses, transfer pricing, chargebacks, and rebate programsMonitor and control expenditures against budget, providing detailed variance explanations to support decision-makingEnsure compliance with tax regulations and manage associated risksSupport financial reporting requirements and external reporting obligationsCoordinate and support audit activities, particularly for warehouse accountsMaintain state tax calendars and ensure timely filing and payment of obligationsSupport ongoing compliance initiatives and tax-related due diligence effortsQualifications:Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relatedMinimum of 3+ years of relative general accounting experiencePharmaceutical or Life Sciences experience preferredERP system and Microsoft Office Suite experience is preferredGood communication, both verbal and written
