You'll own the logistics and on-the-ground experience for user conferences, community meetups, workshops, and sponsored event presences, creating moments that engage and excite engineers in attendance.This is a hands-on, logistics-first role. You'll manage the full event lifecycle from venue sourcing and vendor management through to day-of execution, working closely with our GTM and Brand teams to keep everything running smoothly and on-brand. You don't need to be a coder, but you do need to understand how software teams work and what good looks like in the SaaS and DevTools space.What You'll DoOwn end-to-end event logisticsPlan and execute dev-focused events: user conferences, community meetups, workshops, dinners, and roundtablesManage vendors, venues, budgets, timelines, and all operational details from planning through to post-event wrap-upBuild repeatable processes and checklists so each event runs more smoothly than the lastBuild a consistent community presenceHelp establish and grow Buildkite's presence in dev communities, with an initial focus on the Bay AreaMaintain a calendar of recurring sponsored and co-marketing programs, owning the coordination of eachServe as a reliable point of contact for community partners, co-sponsors, and speakersSupport on-site capture and follow-throughCoordinate on-site logistics that enable content capture and attendee signal collectionLiaise with GTM and Brand teams to ensure post-event follow-up happens on time and consistentlyMaintain simple tracking to connect event activity to downstream outcomesKeep things organized and runningMaintain clear documentation for event plans, budgets, and vendor relationshipsReport on event outcomes honestly → what worked, what didn't, and what to change next timeManage multiple events simultaneously without dropping detailsFunnel attendee and lead information through GTM enrichmentLiaise with GTM and Sales to ensure lifecycle momentum pre- and post-eventWhat You Bring3+ years of experience coordinating or managing events in a SaaS or technical environmentExceptional organizational skills → you juggle timelines, vendors, and moving parts without losing the threadComfortable working cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and external partnersAble to work autonomously in an async-first environment and own tasks from start to finishClear, concise communicator who documents decisions and keeps stakeholders informedNice-to-HavesFamiliarity with CI/CD, DevOps, and software delivery conceptsExperience running events for developer or engineering audiencesExisting network in Bay Area dev communities or tech event ecosystemsExperience with ABM or intent toolsHow We WorkAutonomously, with agency → you'll have real ownership from day oneAsync by default, with focused sync for decisions and unblockingWe ship iteratively: small releases, tight feedback loops, measurable improvementsWe document and work in the open → decisions, risks, tradeoffs, and failures includedWe aim for craft and delight, but we don't worship polish over progress• Why Join BuildkiteAt Buildkite, we value kindness, autonomy, and collaboration.
