About The RoleWe are seeking a Project Engineer to join our team supporting Fluor on their Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility (SRPPF) project! This position is full-time and will be based out of Houston, TX.ResponsibilitiesPlan and perform work requiring sound technical judgment in the evaluation, organization, and execution of project management assignments worldwideManaging and/or coordinating project activities that are in compliance with the contract and ensure the safety, quality, value, timeliness, and Fluor profitability of the completed projectPerform project engineering functions involving monitoring of progress, preparation of procedures, documentation of communications and meetings, and identification/evaluation of project issues and problemsSupport efforts of technical disciplines to ensure integrated and complete designs that meet project requirementsSupport design efforts with vendors and licensors to ensure proper and complete integrationParticipate in work-sharing in accordance with distributed execution plan among multiple officesContinue development by undertaking required in-house project management coursesUtilize knowledge management communities to capture, support and leverage relevant knowledge to enhance project executionMay participate at vendor trade shows and become familiar with the new technologies and industry business directionRequirementsEducation & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 7+ years of relevant experienceCitizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the workClearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitorsJob related technical knowledge necessary to complete the jobAbility to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelinesAbility to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective mannerDesired SkillsProfessional Engineer (PE) License, highly preferredA recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if requiredCertification in project management suggested, for example Project Management Professional (PMP)3+ years of experience in engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction/construction management (EPFC/CM) industry including the performance of functional tasks on projects with a basic understanding of procedures and interfacesCustomer focused with ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships while meeting the company’s needsDemonstrated strategic thinking, accountability, and adaptability skillsAbility to set and maintain high standards of performance with responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments and tasksProactive reporting of progress and accomplishments of assignments and apply necessary follow-up to monitor progress and results of project tasks and assignmentsAnalytical approach to problem solving and identifying potential solutionsTechnical writing skillsBasic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, email, spreadsheets, electronic presentations, and project management toolsAbout The SiteFluor Corporation (Fluor) partners with government clients like the Department of Energy and Department of Defense to design, build, and maintain many of the world's most complex and challenging capital projects, including providing technical, nuclear, and project services along the way.
