The Security Technician will be responsible for installing, servicing and troubleshooting/diagnostics on access control equipment and IP based video systems including, but not limited to: electrified and non-electrified locks, card readers, ancillary door devices, IP and analog cameras, head-end video recording devices, wired and wireless systems and intercom systems. As a security technician, projects are in highly visible environments, active and occupied projects and construction sites. This person is expected to very professional in various situations.Duties and Responsibilities:A Security Technician may be required to perform any of the duties and responsibilities associated with classification ST (Security Technician) in addition to the following;Demonstrate proficiency in reading and understanding electrical schematics, PDF drawings, and related documents associated with installation and/or service of security systems.Lays out work and preps materials for installation.Install cabling, mount equipment, install card readers, door contacts, mag locks, electrified strikes and integrated systems.Functional understanding of low voltage systems, relays, normally closed/normally open.Assembles and installs access control panels, power supplies, cable pathways system and various cable that includes, but is not limited to, CAT cable, low voltage cable and coax.General understanding of Network Topology.Test voltage and continuity using a multi-meter.Possess mechanical and computer skill and ability to effectively troubleshoot.Operates any hand tools and equipment necessary to perform all associated tasks.Performs other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervisor.Meets attendance standards and complies with late/absence notification procedures.Position Requirements:Education: High School Graduate, GED or equivalent. Certifications.Active, or ability to immediately obtain access control license.Experience: Must have 3 or more years in relevant access control installation, service and configuration.
