Welcome to Metronet, where we don’t just build networks; we build communities.Database AdministratorAs a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability and reliability of on-premise Oracle database environments through maintenance, monitoring, and security administration. A key focus being supporting application-specific data integrity, managing local user security, and maintaining replication streams using GoldenGate and remote site configurations.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Collaborating with development teams to support application data functions, including identifying incomplete data sets and executing corrective scripts to ensure data accuracy.Administering on-premise Oracle databases (including Multitenant container/pluggable architectures) to ensure uptime and performance.Creating and managing database user accounts, profiles, and privileges manually, ensuring strict adherence to security policies in a non-SSO environment.Monitoring and maintaining Oracle GoldenGate replication processes to ensure data synchronization between primary and remote sites.Performing routine database maintenance tasks such as patching, backups (RMAN), and storage management.Troubleshooting database alerts and basic application performance issues, identifying root causes related to data anomalies or database configuration.Assisting in the deployment of database changes and schema updates to support application releases.Ensuring database recoverability by conducting regular backup verifications and assisting in disaster recovery drills.Monitoring database performance metrics and executing basic tuning tasks under the guidance of senior staff.Other job-related duties as requestedJOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.At least 2 years of overall database administration experience.Working knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate or similar replication technologies.Willingness to work as a team and independently.Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:Hands-on experience administering Oracle databases (version 19c or higher preferred).Experience with Oracle Multitenant architecture (CDB/PDB) and container databases.Ability to read and write SQL/PL/SQL to query data, spot anomalies, and perform data corrections.Experience managing database security, including user creation, roles, and privileges without reliance on Single Sign-On (SSO).Solid understanding of backup and recovery concepts using RMAN.Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to application connectivity and data consistency.Strong communication and collaboration abilities.Join us and find out what it means to love your career!At Metronet, we are committed to delivering cutting-edge technology combined with exceptional customer care.
