This is a temporary, full time position located at our jobsite near Manhattan, NY.Essential FunctionsEnsures that all Nicholson and OSHA safety regulations are followed and enforcedEnsures all installation follows Nicholson Quality Control Manual, Approved Submittals and Work PlansPerforms field quality control testsPrepares and manages quality control and production recordsResearch and resolves drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errorsRuns small work crews (technical tasks like water testing, load testing, etc.)Performs field surveys and resolves geometry issuesPrepares drawings and sketches to support construction workOrders materials, writes purchase orders, and tracks inventoryAssists in preparation of change order documentation and claim analysisRequirementsBachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related degree is required along with 2-3 years of construction equipment/ techniques (i.e. drawings, specifications, building materials, surveying, design, or geotechnical work)Eligible to work in the U.S. - Visa sponsorship is not provided by company for PE position.Prior construction site work experience a plus.Basic knowledge of bidding and job costing proceduresKnowledgeable in structural and geotechnical designs related to our techniquesProficient with MS Word, Excel and OutlookConverse effectively using both verbal and written decisions and assume accountabilityConcentrate on tasksDemonstrate ability to manage stress and emotions as related to the workplaceAttention to detailIdentify and resolve conflictAssess safety and riskPhysical RequirementsLift, carry, pull and push at least 40 poundsTravel per the company travel policy, including overnight and away from home.BenefitsMedicalDentalVisionShort Term DisabilityLong Term DisabilityAccidental Death and DismembermentMaternity/Paternity LeaveLife Insurance401(k) matchingTuition reimbursementSafe Harbor Retirement PlanEmployee Assistance ProgramPaid VacationSick daysNicholson Construction participates in E-Verify.Please be advised that all interested candidates are REQUIRED to attach a copy of your resume in order to be considered.In an effort to foster a diverse workforce Nicholson Construction encourages applications from minorities, veterans, women and individuals with disabilities.
