Principal Software Engineer - CoreAI Foundry Observability
Overview
In this role you will lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable AI services within the Observability team for Foundry. You will own end-to-end architecture, development, deployment, and operational excellence, partnering with product and cross-functional teams. You will drive technical strategy, mentor engineers, and promote engineering best practices. You will work closely with customers and stakeholders to align solutions with business goals and customer needs. This position offers the opportunity to shape observability in cutting-edge AI platforms and impact a wide range of Microsoft customers.
ResponsibilitiesLead design and delivery of large-scale AI services with focus on scalability, reliability, security, and performanceOwn end-to-end service lifecycle from architecture to deployment and monitoringCollaborate with product, engineering, and cross-functional teams to align technical strategy with business goalsEngage with customers to collect feedback and resolve complex issuesProvide technical leadership across initiatives, drive architecture decisions and executionPromote engineering excellence through best practices in system design, testing, security, privacy, compliance, and code qualityFoster innovation in observability, automation, deployment safety, and operational efficiencyCollaborate with stakeholders to create cohesive end-to-end experiences for Microsoft customersMentor engineers, lead code reviews and design discussions, and encourage continuous learning
Key requirementsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 6+ years of engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python (or equivalent)Ability to meet security screening requirements including Microsoft Cloud Background Checkcross-functional collaborationcustomer empathymentorship and coachingC, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, PythonGo (preferred)design and delivery of highly available, large-scale cloud services and distributed systems
