50 mile radius rule - ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST INCLUDE A COPY OF CANDIDATE'S UNEXPIRED DRIVER'S LICENSE LICENSING HITS MUST BE DISCLOSED AT TIME OF SUBMISSION Unit ICU # beds 4-Beds Certs BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS are Required Ratios 1:4 Generally staffed with 1 RN in the ICU (always has a tech) but a MedSurg nurse could be floated to help if needed. EMR EPIC Charge Nurse Charge Nurse in staffing for MedSurg & will take a patient assignment Nurse Aides PCT for both shifts. There is always 1 PCT in the ICU w/ the RN Weekend Requirement Every-other- weekend. Sat/Sun is considered weekend for both day & night shift Holidays Work into the perm staff holiday rotation schedule Scrub Color Any color Tele/Monitor Techs Phillips cardiac monitors hard-wired in each room as well as a central monitor station Drips All typical ICU drips Vents 6 vents in house - intubate & vasopressors Hospitalist or Intensivist in house Both Hospitalist & Intensivist are in-house 7 days/week. From 1900 - 0700 NP in-house 7 days per week IV Team No IV Team RT 24/7 RT 24/7 Pharmacy 24/7 Pharmacist in-house 8 hrs during the day. Pyxis. They also have pharmacy techs & Pharmacist at Berkeley can be contacted if needed. Shifts Shifts are all 12's for both RN's & CNA's: 0645 - 1915/1845 - 0715. Floating No floating outside of the ICU unless they are comfortable, they could sometimes float to MedSurg. Floor specific orientation 1-2 shifts for orientation with a preceptor Common diagnosis / Types of patients COVID-pneumonia, post-op (ortho, urology) ,COPD, CHF, older population, typical MedSurg ICU patients
