Join a leader in advanced EV batteries. www.lgenergymi.com Summary: A Production Manager leads and oversees shop floor operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production while meeting internal and external customer demands. This role is responsible for driving operational performance, maintaining accountability and discipline, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and developing production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Production Manager plays a key role in achieving production, quality, safety, staffing, and cost objectives while fostering a positive and performance-driven culture. Responsibilities: Lead and manage daily production and rework operations to achieve production, quality, safety, and cost targets Maintain a safe, clean, and environmentally compliant work environment while promoting a strong safety culture Conduct daily production meetings to review KPIs, production output, yield performance, quality concerns, inventory status, staffing, and company updates with production teams and leadership Monitor daily staffing levels, manage attendance coverage, and develop contingency plans to support operational continuity. Coordinate and communicate effectively with off-shift leadership teams to ensure smooth operational transitions. Manage incident investigations, safety alerts, corrective actions, and safety training for employees, contractors, and visitors Lead department VIP tours and support internal and external customer visits as needed. Prepare and present department performance updates during monthly meetings with leadership and team members Support workforce management activities, including hiring, onboarding, retention, performance evaluations, promotions, corrective actions, and terminations for hourly team members. Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors, crew leaders, and operators to support career growth and succession planning. Conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings with direct reports to provide performance feedback, development support, and accountability Maintain positive employee relations and promote a collaborative, team-oriented work environment Ensure department procedures, work instructions, and compliance documentation are maintained through the internal document control system Monitor production specifications, quality samples, and process controls to ensure compliance with customer and engineering requirements Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions for quality and production issues. Track, maintain, and communicate departmental KPIs and operational performance metrics Support production planning activities to align staffing, materials, and operational priorities with production schedules Submit and manage Electronic Approvals (EAs) related to invoices, materials, equipment, organizational updates, and operational needs. Conduct thorough and timely Layered Process Audits (LPA) within assigned production areas Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve operational efficiency, productivity, quality, and employee engagement Maintain cleanliness at the worksite in accordance with 5S3R Standards: Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or MS preferred, or equivalent, relevant experience Experience: 7 to 10+ years of experience in complex mechanical assembly, tooling, and manufacturing in a highly automated setting 3 to 6+ years of experience leading and managing multiple processes Experience with large production lines and floor management Experience implementing 5S principles preferred Supervisor experience in LGESMI preferred Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing reporting systems preferred Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels Ability to work through ambiguity and make sound operational decisions under pressure Strong planning, organizational, and workflow management skills Ability to delegate responsibilities and drive accountability across teams Strong analytical and root cause problem-solving capabilities Ability to coach, develop, and motivate production teams Ability to work flexible hours, including off-shift support, weekends, or extended hours as operationally required LG Energy Solution is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status under applicable law.
