Sr. Manager, SEC Reporting
Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY\nVeritone is seeking an individual for the role of Sr. Manager of SEC Reporting. This role will report into the Chief Accounting Officer and have responsibility for the Company's external reporting requirements and accounting research function as well as assist with internal monthly reporting. This individual will also be responsible for supporting the Company's external audit processes.WHAT YOU'LL DO\n\nLead the Company's SEC reporting process. This includes the preparation, distribution and filing of the 10-Q quarterly and 10-K annual SEC filing requirements. The role will also support the Company's periodic filing requirements as needed.\nCoordination of the Company's quarterly earnings release and associated SEC filing.\nMonitor and ensure timely identification of, and compliance with, accounting guidance utilizing all available tools. Provide GAAP interpretations and documentation of issues in a clear and comprehensive manner, including preparing accounting memos supporting the Company's position.\nMonitor the peer group SEC filings to identify industry trends which should be considered in the Company's disclosures.\nManagement and execution of internal controls and governance procedures supporting the Company's Sarbanes-Oxley requirements related to financial reporting.\nCoordinate the quarterly review and annual audit procedures performed by the external auditors.\nSupport the process to routinely communicate with the Audit Committee or Board of Directors on significant accounting, disclosure or internal control items impacting the Company and its disclosures.\nManagement and implementation of new accounting pronouncements including ASC 606 on revenue recognition.\nManage monthly accounting for stock-based compensation and other equity transactions.\nInternal and external financial reporting requirements, as needed.\nAssist in the monthly close process as needed.\nAd hoc reporting and special projects as assigned.\nWHAT YOU'LL NEED\n\nBachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent is required.\nCPA required (active preferred)\n6-8+ years of experience including a combination of public accounting experience preferably at a Big 4 Firm and responsibility for managing an SEC reporting function.\nAccounting and reporting research experience including competency to interpret and implement accounting guidance as it relates to the Company's business.\nExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal.\nSelf-starter; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.\nAbility to work well in a collaborative team environment.\nBONUS POINTS IF\n\nStrong multi-tasking skills; must manage responsibilities under strict deadlines.\nExperience with Workiva and Oracle Cloud ERP.\nExperience in the Technology/SaaS industry is a plus.\nExperience and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.\nDISCLOSURE\nOur company provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.\n(Colorado & California Only*): The Annual salary listed for the position is a range of $180,000.00-$200,000.00. This base pay is for illustrative purposes only and will be determined based on skills and experience comparable to the job requirements.
