Startup Technician

POSITION DESCRIPTION:This position requires a strong knowledge and hands-on experience with starting up, troubleshooting and servicing Mechanical and HVAC equipment/systems. The position will be expected to travel on a regular basis meeting (scheduled and non-scheduled) startup and service requirements including EAS Construction installed and Manufacturing set projects as wellas warranty claims. This position may require extended time and overnight stay out of state. The technician is responsible for the quality of his or her work, including proper documentation ensuring it is acceptable by both EAS and customer standards.Job responsibilities:Perform Mechanical and HVAC (refrigerant) equipment startupsOversee and/or perform refrigeration installations and evacuations in compliance with industry standardsTroubleshoot Mechanical and HVAC equipment/system issues to ensure proper operationRepair and/or replace Mechanical and HVAC equipmentPhysically resolve warranty claimsUse the provided tools, technology, and vehicle to efficiently complete tasks safelyMaintain accurate and concise documentation of work performed and submitted in a timely mannerComplete and submit timesheets and expense reportsProvide onsite support to project teams and clientsComprehend and comply with equipment Installation, Operation, and Maintenance (IOM) manualsReview and comprehend equipment SubmittalsPerform Pre-startup activities for EAS and/or 3rd party vendor equipment StartupsUnderstand and follow EAS Mechanical QA/QC standardsUnderstand and inspect electrical installations per the National Electrical Code (NEC)Install and inspect all aspects of Control systemsRead and comprehend Mechanical, Electrical and Control installation drawings as well as flow diagrams (P&IDs)Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on Mechanical and HVAC equipmentInspect, adjust/align, and/or replace fan belts on motorsEDUCATION:High School or Trade Graduate or GEDHolds an EPA Universal Refrigerant Card/CertificationMinimum of five years hands-on experience in this industry or a related field is requiredCommercial experience is desirableJOB REQUIREMENTS/SPECIAL SKILLS:Personal computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)Good documentation and communication skillsVision for success and the ability to develop quality/service staff membersMust be able to demonstrate leadership skills, coaching, and problem solvingAbility to coordinate multiple projects, people, and functionsSet continuous examples of a high-level of Safety on the job as well as courteous and defensive driving skillsMaintain a current, valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle ReportOperate arial lifts on project jobsitesAccept every challenge to meet project specificationsMaintain a flexible working schedule, including potential weekend and/or emergency service callsAlways keep a clean and professional appearance including vehicle and tools
