Overview BD Parata is seeking a Field Support Engineer in the Los Angeles area. The Field Support Engineer will provide in-depth technical and customer support of BD Parata’s suite of pharmacy automation products. In this role you will travel regionally to provide industry leading support and service to pharmacies in multiple types of environments. Responsibilities Regularly inspect and maintain pharmacy automation systems to identify potential issues before they cause downtime. This includes performing scheduled preventative maintenance, replacing worn components, and ensuring all systems are operating at optimal performance levels to maximize client uptime and satisfaction. Provide thorough, hands-on training to pharmacy staff on proper operation and maintenance procedures for automation systems. This includes creating customized training materials, conducting refresher sessions, and ensuring all shifts have access to proper operational knowledge to reduce user errors and service calls. Prioritize and respond to service requests according to established Service Level Agreement timeframes, ensuring critical issues receive immediate attention. This includes maintaining clear communication with clients about expected resolution times and providing regular updates throughout the troubleshooting process. Work effectively with other service teams, engineering, and product specialists to address complex technical issues that require multidisciplinary expertise. This collaborative approach ensures faster resolution times and more comprehensive solutions for challenging automation problems. Maintain detailed records of all service activities, including issue descriptions, troubleshooting steps taken, parts replaced, and final resolutions in the Salesforce Field Service Lightning system. This documentation creates a valuable knowledge base for future reference and helps identify recurring issues that may require product improvements. Minimum Requirements Associates degree in Electronics, Mechanical, Robotics, or Biomedical Engineering Technology preferred, with 3-5 years of field service experience. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered. Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills for on-site troubleshooting and client interaction. Proficiency with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting. Experience with computer networking, router/switch configuration, and file management to diagnose connectivity issues and configure equipment on client networks. Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency using hand tools, complemented by experience with digital multimeters and electrical testing equipment. SQL knowledge is a plus. Physical Requirements Daily car travel (average 4 hours per day) with occasional air travel. Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds frequently, 100 pounds occasionally. Stand for extended periods (up to 10-12 hours when necessary).
