Senior DevSecOps Engineer

OverviewAs a Senior DevSecOps Engineer , you will work with our growing DevSecOps practice delivering features to support cloud and application development. We are looking for candidates with 5-7 years of experience with cloud platform services and DevSecOps practices such as build/release management, CI/CD practices, and process automation.ContributionsResponsibilities include:Establishing development tools and infrastructure for automationUnderstanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developersAutomating and improving development, testing, deployment, and release processesTesting and examining code written by others and analyzing resultsEnsuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threatsIdentifying technical problems, performing root cause analysis, and developing software updates and 'fixes'Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intendedSupporting enterprise Cloud applications or infrastructure through infrastructure as code including any activities around automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, and monitoring and testing, such as CI/CDDocumenting as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendationsLeveraging virtualization and containerization to optimize and modernize software systemsActing as an individual contributor and mentoring team membersEngineering and implementing solutions and providing recommendations for continuous improvement for the services providedPresenting regular status updates and providing cross training to other DevOps team membersQualificationsRequired:Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security ClearanceBachelor's Degree in an IT-related field and 8+ years of experience5+ years of experience with one or more clouds (i.e. AWS, Azure, or GCP)5+ years of experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket5+ years of experience with one or more programming or scripting languages5+ years of experience implementing DevSecOps practices within an Agile development environment3+ years of experience implementing containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes5+ years of experience implementing infrastructure as code and orchestration using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible5+ years of experience building CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, TravisCIExperience implementing and managing industry-standard DevSecOps tools across the SDLCExperience integrating test automation including performance, security, and functional tests into CI/CD pipelinesPreferred:Master's Degree in an IT related fieldCertifications:AWS Certified DevOps EngineerAWS Certified Solutions Architect – ProfessionalMicrosoft Certified DevOps Engineer ExpertSAFe DevOps CertificationExperience implementing automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium)Experience with documenting an as-is state of the environment, performing a gap analysis, and producing artifacts that articulate options and recommendationsExperience scripting in languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or RubyExcellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal, and collaborative skillsAbout steampunkSteampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $150,000 to $185,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
