GEO Academies students have the opportunity to earn a full college degree or career credential even before graduating from high school - at no cost to families.Job Description:GEO Academies Baton Rouge is currently seeking a part-time Regional School Social Worker to provide counseling services to students with IEPs.We are seeking a licensed, certified, and experienced School Social Worker to join our team. As a School Social Worker, you will be responsible for providing a range of direct services to staff members, students, and parents in our school district.Services consist of, but are not limited to, providing counseling services to students with IEPs, delivering professional developments, conducting parent interviews, consultations regarding evaluations and IEPs, and follow-ups. You will work collaboratively with district personnel and other professionals to collect and compile data for reporting and assist school staff and the regional leader with crisis prevention.Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):Provides information and referral services to children/families regarding available community resources.Provides counseling services to identified students as determined by the IEP team and maintains accurate records of services provided.Administers, scores, and interprets appropriate assessments and provides written reports of the results.Participate in special education eligibility determinations, IEP team meetings, and participate in the development of individualized education plans (IEPs), as needed.Collaborates with school staff during the SBLC process, advises staff on implementing intervention strategies, techniques on how to work with families, behavior interventions, and any other areas of expertise of the School Social Worker.Maintain confidentiality along with accurate and confidential records of all services provided.Provides counseling services to identified students as determined by the IEP teamRemains current and aware of new developments, research, and best practices as it relates to school social work and keeps the department/multi-disciplinary team informed of new developments.RequirementsLicensed by the state of LouisianaExperience administering a variety of assessments to identify student needs and providing written reportsAbility to meet compliance deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively within a team and with a diverse group of stakeholdersStrong organizational and time management skillsThe ability to multi-task and maintain accurate recordsPreferred:Experience using the Louisiana eSER system
