Machine Operator/Forklift Operator

*Location:* Pacific Junction, IA *Pay:* $20.50/hour *Shift:* 1st Shift *Join Our Team!* We are seeking a dependable, safety-minded *Machine Operator / Forklift Operator* to support production and warehouse operations in Pacific Junction, IA. This position offers the opportunity to operate automated packaging equipment, perform forklift duties, and play a key role in maintaining product quality and production efficiency. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with computerized equipment, and willing to work overtime during peak production seasons. *Schedule* * 1st Shift: 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM * Currently Monday through Thursday * Schedule will transition to Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM * Some Saturdays required based on seasonal production demands * 40 to 60 hours per week from January through June * Peak season typically occurs March through May, with 50 to 60 hours per week *Pay & Benefits* * Starting pay: *$20.50 per hour* * Overtime opportunities available during peak season * Potential for full-time employment after the first 90 days based on attendance, performance, and safe work practices *Job Responsibilities* * Operate a fully automated packaging line * Monitor, adjust, and troubleshoot computer-controlled production equipment * Perform machine adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency standards * Conduct quality inspections, including weight and volume checks * Complete production paperwork and documentation accurately * Monitor and refill shakers to support continuous production * Load, verify, and stage raw materials and roll stock for production * Coordinate with material handlers and operators to maintain material flow * Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and communicate maintenance needs * Operate forklifts to move materials and finished products * Maintain a clean and safe work area through housekeeping activities, including sweeping, shoveling, and lifting * Follow all safety procedures and company policies *Qualifications* * Previous machine operation and/or forklift experience preferred * Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills * Basic understanding of computerized production equipment * Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality * Ability to complete required paperwork accurately * Able to lift, bend, stand, and perform physical work throughout the shift * Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Willingness to work overtime and extended hours during busy seasons * Dependable attendance and strong work ethic * High school diploma or GED preferred *Work Environment* This position involves a combination of indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions. Candidates should be comfortable performing physical labor, operating industrial equipment, and working in a fast-paced production and warehouse environment.
