Overview:
GovTact is actively seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our team at NSWC Crane, supporting critical projects for our Navy customer. The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure to ensure the stability and efficiency of communications systems.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Design, configure, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices.
Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.
Collaborate with other IT professionals and stakeholders to design and implement network solutions that meet project requirements.
Provide technical guidance and support to team members and end-users regarding network technologies and best practices.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Active Secret clearance is required.
Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
3-5 years of experience working as a Network Engineer in a government or military environment.
Proficiency in network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS.
Experience with Cisco networking equipment and technologies.
Familiarity with network security principles and best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
CCNA, CCNP, or other relevant Cisco certifications.
Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds or Cisco Prime.
Knowledge of virtualization technologies and cloud networking.
Familiarity with DoD network architecture and protocols.
Experience with network automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
