Role: Senior Instrument Control Software Engineer
Location: San Carlos, CA (Onsite)
Required Qualifications:
- Software Engineering 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with advanced hands-on Python development in production environments, preferably involving physical hardware or instrumentation.
- Demonstrated ownership of substantial software components or complete engineering projects.
- Experience with multithreading, asynchronous execution, event-driven systems, or concurrent processing.
- Strong debugging, code review, testing, and software design skills.
- Experience maintaining complex applications with multiple dependencies and interconnected components.

- Direct experience developing or maintaining software that controls physical devices.
- Experience working with sensors, motors, actuators, cameras, controllers, or similar hardware.
- Understanding of hardware state, device initialization, operating sequences, and failure recovery.
- Ability to diagnose issues spanning software and hardware boundaries.
- Familiarity with Linux environments and device-level debugging.
