Position: Structural Design Engineer (Part-Time)Company: My Virtual MateWork Type: Part-TimeLocation: RemotePlease send your resume to ruby@myvirtualmate.comKey Responsibilities:Design Development:Create detailed 2D and 3D designs for racking systems using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit.Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure designs meet structural integrity, load-bearing capacities, and Australian safety standards (AS4084).Ensure designs align with customer requirements and regulatory standards.Structural Analysis:Conduct force, load, and stress analysis using SAP2000, ANSYS, or similar software.Perform static and dynamic load analysis to validate the safety and durability of racking designs under various conditions.Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to simulate performance and identify potential structural weaknesses.Compliance and Safety:Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety and industry standards, particularly AS4084.Stay up to date with the latest materials and safety standards for racking systems.Collaboration and Reporting:Work closely with the project and engineering teams to deliver designs within specified timelines.Provide regular updates on the progress of design projects and potential challenges.Prepare documentation for project reports, compliance checks, and client presentations.Required Technical Skills:Structural Engineering Principles: Expertise in load distribution, force analysis, and safety standards for racking systems.Material Science: Understanding of materials like steel and their behaviour under different load and stress conditions.Force & Load Analysis: Ability to perform detailed structural and stress analysis using FEA software.Software Proficiency:AutoCAD (2D/3D drafting)SolidWorks or Revit (3D modeling and simulation)SAP2000, ANSYS (force analysis, load simulation)Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools for stress and load evaluationQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.3+ years of experience in structural design, with a focus on racking systems.Proven expertise in using design and simulation software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, SAP2000, ANSYS, FEA).Familiarity with Australian racking standards (AS4084).Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with remote teams.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in a remote design team.Previous work on large-scale racking systems or similar projects.Familiarity with additional compliance standards for international markets.WORK FROM HOME REQUIREMENTS :Minimum 10 MBPS internet connection.Backup internet connection (postpaid or prepaid).Laptop or desktop with updated operating systems (at least core i5 or higher).Backup laptop or desktop (at least core i5 or higher).Headset with microphone for clear communication.Willingness to use Time Doctor for monitoring.Maintain a noise-free work environment during working hours.Must not be currently employed full time elsewhere.Note: This is an urgent need and we will start conducting interviews as early as today.
