SQL Database Administrator

Client is seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize our SQL Server databases. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with large-scale databases and a strong background in performance tuning and high availability solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister and manage SQL Server databases, including replication and high availability configurations.Support SQL Server 2019 and multi-terabyte databases, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.Perform database performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting to resolve issues efficiently.Implement and manage database replication strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.Collaborate with development teams to optimize database design and query performance.Maintain database security, backups, and disaster recovery strategies.Research and recommend emerging database technologies and best practices.Automate routine database maintenance tasks using PowerShell and other scripting tools. QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent technical experience.Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting Windows desktop/server operating systems, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies.Advanced knowledge of automation for Windows platforms, leveraging tools like PowerShell, ActiveBatch, and SCCM or MDT.Minimum of 7 years of experience in administering multi-terabyte databases, including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Yellowbrick, Netezza, and DB2.Proficiency in SQL, MongoDB, PL/SQL, PL/pgSQL, UNIX Shell, PowerShell, and PERL.Experience with administering a multi-terabyte data warehouse is preferred.Strong technical aptitude with outstanding troubleshooting skills.Ability to research emerging technologies and make informed recommendations.
