Accounting Manager/Supervisor

We are looking for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join a small, collaborative office. This contract opportunity can be structured as either part-time or a regular schedule based on the candidate’s availability and the needs of the team. The person in this role will provide day-to-day accounting leadership, support tax and bookkeeping operations, and help maintain a consistent, dependable workflow in a fully onsite environment. The ideal schedule would be part time 20-25 hours a week Responsibilities:• Oversee daily accounting activities for a growing client portfolio, ensuring records are accurate, organized, and completed on schedule.• Guide and support administrative and accounting staff by providing direction, coaching, and practical training on financial tasks and office procedures.• Review general ledger activity, prepare journal entries, and manage reconciliations to maintain clean and reliable financial data.• Handle month-end close responsibilities and assist with the preparation of internal financial reporting materials.• Manage bookkeeping functions in QuickBooks Online, including transaction review, account maintenance, and reporting support.• Coordinate sales tax, payroll tax, quarterly filings, and year-end returns while keeping up with applicable compliance requirements.• Serve as a key point of contact for team members who need escalation support on accounting questions, client issues, or workload prioritization.• Contribute to payroll-related accounting work and assist with tax-focused duties as needed during high-volume periods.• 3+ years of leadership experience supervising or guiding multiple team members in an accounting or bookkeeping environment.• Hands-on background in accounting operations, including general ledger work, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and comfort managing bookkeeping functions within the platform.• Experience with sales tax filings, payroll tax reporting, and related quarterly or year-end compliance activities.• Ability to work effectively in a small office setting with a high level of professionalism, reliability, and collaboration.• Understanding of tax-related accounting concepts; prior tax firm or public accounting exposure is preferred.• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to manage priorities in a fully onsite role.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
