Telco Architect
About Canyon CodeCanyon Code is a Silicon Valley start-up tackling some of the stickiest problems in the AI Infrastructure software space. The company’s workflow intelligence layer is a breakthrough technology that gives enterprises the controls to observe, optimize, and govern each AI workflow at scale. Why Telco, Why NowTelco compute is becoming increasingly heterogeneous, with CPUs running traditional RAN functions alongside GPUs and accelerators powering more advanced components such as AI-driven RAN optimization, edge inference, and ML-based network automation. As that heterogeneity grows, the ability to observe, optimize, and govern workloads across mixed compute becomes mission-critical to the economics and performance of the network. Canyon Code’s technology, and by extension this role, sits at the center of that shift, and will only grow more important to the future of Telco.About The RoleWe are looking for a Telco Architect to work directly with Canyon Code’s CEO. You will own the carrier deployment end-to-end and turn it into a repeatable reference case study that lands the next wave of telco customers. You are a good fit if:You have 5+ years of professional engineering experience, with meaningful time in a customer-facing role (Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Architect, Solutions Engineer, or equivalent). You have hands-on experience with telco infrastructure such as Ericsson EIAP, Nokia MantaRay, Samsung vRAN, rApps etc.PLUS: You have shipped into a Tier-1 carrier (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Vodafone, DT, etc.).You have a working understanding of heterogeneous compute environments, including CPU and GPU/accelerator workloads, scheduling, and utilization characteristics. You have a deep understanding of containerization, and can use server-level telemetry to characterize workload behavior and orchestrate scaling decisions across nodes and clusters. You have strong full-stack and systems engineering skills such as Python, containers, Kubernetes, APIs, distributed systems, and observability tooling (Grafana, Prometheus, Tableau). You have strong product instincts: you can take a powerful backend capability and make it legible, useful, and satisfying for a customer’s architects and operators. You possess clear written communication. You will turn customer engagements into docs, playbooks, demos, and reference architectures that the next deployment reuses. You are self-driven and can thrive in ill-defined, ambiguous, dynamic, early-stage work, especially when the customer is large, slow, and political.PLUS: You have commercial instincts. You can scope statements of work, manage a customer relationship, and recognize when a conversation should become a contract.PLUS: You bring relationships into Tier-1 or Tier-2 carriers, OEMs (Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung), or hyperscaler telco teams. Why JoinPath to GM → This role starts hands-on, with a clear, merit-based path to General Manager of the Telco BU, owning sales, delivery, and P&L. You unlock the path by converting the initial pilot into a repeatable playbook, demonstrating commercial judgment, mentoring the next telco hires, building senior relationships across carriers and OEMs, and operating with a P&L mindset.Own a vertical from day one → You are not joining a team; you are the team. Every telco logo runs through you.Ride a structural shift → As telco compute moves from CPU-only to a heterogeneous CPU + GPU world, the importance of this role compounds. You are positioning yourself at the center of where Telco is going, not where it has been.Work on Frontier AI → Shape software that will redefine what’s possible for AI Infra., applied to one of the largest infrastructure markets in the world.Mentorship → Direct guidance from a founding team with deep experience in ML Systems research, AI Infra. platforms, and telco.Visibility & Networking → Collaborate with leaders at Tier-1 carriers, OEMs, and the broader AI infrastructure ecosystem.Contact:
