Tax Accountant

Senior Accountant - Shelton, CT (Hybrid) Base pay range: $75,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr Why work for my client? Responsibilities Tax Preparation: Assisting in the preparation of tax returns for individuals, businesses, or organizations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations. Tax Planning: Providing tax planning and advisory services to clients, identifying tax-saving opportunities, and optimizing tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities. Tax Compliance: Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, including filing requirements, reporting obligations, and payment deadlines. Tax Research: Conducting tax research on complex tax issues, legislative changes, and industry trends, and providing recommendations and insights to clients and colleagues. Client Communication: Communicating with clients to gather relevant tax information, address tax-related inquiries, and provide guidance on tax matters. Audit Support: Assisting with tax audits by regulatory authorities, providing documentation, explanations, and support for audit inquiries and procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Minimum of 1 year of experience in tax accounting Experience in public accounting or a specialized tax services firm. Experience with software such as QuickBooks and other tax accounting software Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
