Position: Cargo Handler- Part TimeSchedule: Multiple Shift, onsiteAM- Monday, Thursday, Friday 0600- 1000. Saturday 0600-12pm. PM- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 6pm-10pm and Friday 6pm to 11pm.Compensation: $19.95 per hour, bi-weekly pay, 401k program eligibleJob Description:Forward Air is seeking capable and career-oriented individuals to work in our fast-paced shipping/dock operation. Our Cargo Handlers are responsible for loading and unloading freight on our trailers in a safe and timely manner. Frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of freight is required. All necessary training and materials for this position are provided.Core Responsibilities & Duties:Responsible for the loading/unloading of 53 ft. commercial trailers and the operation of scannersUse handheld scanners to efficiently track and maneuver freight through our distribution networkAccurately label boxes and prepare freight for shipmentSafely load and unload trailers by utilizing equipment such as hand trucks/pallets jack and forkliftsMust be able to obtain certification and safely operate forklift and other machinery as requiredVerify documentation and condition of freight to assure quality standards are achievedMust be able to frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) poundsMust be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to ninety (90) poundsMaintain a clean and safe working environmentOther duties as assignedJob Requirements & Qualifications:Excellent communication and problem solving skillsStrong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environmentMust be flexible to work weekends and overtime as neededForklift and general freight handling knowledge is a plusMust be 18 or olderForward Air is an Equal Opportunity employer.#L1-onsite#L1-MP1Since 1990, Forward Air has been a leading provider of ground transportation and related logistics services to the North American air freight and expedited LTL market.
