MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE JOURNEYMAN/WELDER/MECHANICDeseret Power is an electrical utility serving Utah and surrounding states. We have an excellent job opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Journeyman with a background in either welding or mechanics at our Bonanza Plant, a 500 MW coal-fired generating station, near Vernal, Utah.Job Responsibilities:Looking for a candidate that can perform a wide range of mechanical maintenance and repair duties in a power plant environment, including but not limited to: Maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding pumps of various sizes and services. Installing, troubleshooting, and rebuilding high pressure and low pressure valves. Working at heights on a regular basis while using approved fall protection equipment. Maintaining and servicing ash and coal conveying systems. Performing welding tasks on piping systems of various sizes and pressure classifications. Fabricating piping and components as required throughout the plant. Overhauling and maintaining steam plant equipment and associated mechanical systems. Collaborating effectively with team members, contractors, and other departments to complete tasks safely and efficiently. Communicating clearly both verbally and in writing to provide updates, document work performed, and support plant operations.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent. Mechanical experience with pumps, gearboxes, heavy industrial equipment etc..Welding experience required, including the ability to pass qualification tests that meet power plant standards. Proficiency with SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW welding processes. Machining experience preferred but not mandatory.
