Maintenance Technician - Decatur AL

Job Description : As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of building systems and equipment within our housing units located in Decatur, Alabama. Your work will ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic quality of our properties.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform general maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting. Conduct routine inspections of residential units and common areas to identify maintenance needs. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and complete work orders efficiently. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs. Collaborate with property management and other team members to ensure optimal operations. Assist in managing inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment. Provide excellent customer service to residents. QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry. Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues. Familiarity with safety regulations and building codes. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Certification in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work is a plus. Physical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs). Ability to climb ladders and work at heights. Ability to perform physical tasks, including bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
