Distribution Center Manager - Plainfield, INWage: $120k - $130kWe are seeking an experienced Distribution Center (DC) Manager to oversee all warehouse, logistics, and distribution operations at our Plainfield facility. This key leadership role ensures the efficient movement of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods while maintaining safety, regulatory compliance, quality, and cost control. The DC Manager will lead multi-shift teams, including supervisors and hourly associates, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors, coordinators, and warehouse associates across multiple shifts, driving performance, accountability, and team engagementOversee all DC operations, including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, staging, shipping, and inventory management, ensuring accurate and timely fulfillment of customer ordersManage labor planning, shift coverage, and resource allocation while optimizing warehouse layout, racking, and material flow to maximize efficiency and space utilizationEnsure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, root-cause analysis of discrepancies, and collaboration with Planning and Manufacturing teams to meet production and customer demandChampion a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other regulatory requirements, and maintain preparedness through audits, training, and incident responseLead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and standard work practices to increase throughput, reduce costs, and enhance service performanceMonitor and report on key operational metrics such as labor productivity, order accuracy, DIFOT, inventory accuracy, safety performance, and cost efficiencyCollaborate with Manufacturing, Planning, Procurement, Quality, Customer Service, and Transportation teams to support new product introductions, production transitions, and outbound logistics optimizationManage DC budgets, including labor, equipment, racking, packaging, and operational expenses, and oversee maintenance and safe operation of forklifts, racking systems, and other equipmentQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered7+ years of progressive warehouse or DC operations experience, including multi-shift leadership of 30–100 employeesExperience in chemical or regulated manufacturing environments preferredStrong leadership, coaching, and team development skillsProficient with ERP/WMS systems; familiarity with analytics and reporting tools a plusKnowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, and chemical-handling regulatory requirementsDemonstrated success driving process improvement and operational excellence
