*Full-Time High School English Instructor**Performance Responsibilities*:Plan, develop and execute lessons that reflect the curriculum and the states standards in both fundamental sequenced core classes in addition to English-centered electives.Adapt English curriculum for individual, small group, and remedial instruction to meet the needs of identified students or subgroups of students.Provide group and individual instruction to motivate pupils, and effectively utilize the time available for instructional activities.Evaluate the academic and social growth of students.Assess student progress and ability to meet courses standards in English knowledge and skills.Establish and maintain standards of student behavior.Employ a variety of methodologies in teaching and instructing pupils, including demonstrations, discussions, lectures, and hands-on activities.Utilize educational equipment, such as materials, books, and other learning aids.Actively engage in professional development opportunities and then implement the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom.Create a classroom environment and culture conducive to effective instructionUse assessment data to assist administrators with placement of students in appropriate instructional or intervention programs.Effectively communicate with students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, both successes and concerns.Serve a lunch bus duty assignment, effectively run Manta Mentoring group, and actively participate as a team member.*Job Qualifications*-Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree preferredCertification in English (9-12) requiredStrong background in English instruction and teacher training requiredSuccessful experience in facilitating student learningMinimum of three (3) years successful 9-12 teaching experience preferredESOL, ESE, Gifted, and/or Reading Certification or Endorsement preferredDemonstrated success as an English teacherJob Type: Full-timePay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per yearBenefits:Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offProfessional development assistanceRetirement planPhysical Setting:* Charter school* Public schoolWork Location: In personby Jobble
