Apply now to make an impact in Illinois healthcare!Estimated Weekly SalaryEstimated Weekly Salary Range: $2000-$2050Travel Neuro RN Job DetailsLocation: Decatur, IL 62526 (Illinois nursing jobs)Healthcare Setting: Acute Care Hospital – Level II Trauma CenterUnit: Medical Surgical – NeuroAssignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/22/2025 – End: 12/22/2025)Shift: Night Shift, 4x12-hour or 3x12-hour shifts per week (18:00 – 06:30)Hours per Week: 36Weekend Requirement: Every other weekendPatient Census: Average 32 patients per dayCharting System: CernerScrub Color: Royal blueParking: Free with permitNeuro RN QualificationsActive Illinois RN license (required at submission)Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg Neuro RN experience (2 years preferred)BLS (AHA or Red Cross only) and NIHSS certifications (required)Travel nursing experience (required)Proficiency with Cerner electronic chartingAbility to float within hospital and to affiliate hospitals as neededStrong clinical skills: cardiac monitoring, telemetry, rapid response, IV therapy, phlebotomy, medication administration (Heparin, Insulin, PCA)Experience with neurological/psychiatric cases: CVA, pre/post neuro surgery, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuryCompetency in surgical drains, respiratory care (CPAP/BiPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy management), wound care/wound vac, and continuous bladder irrigationMust be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignmentFlu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)Travel Neuro RN ResponsibilitiesDeliver high-quality nursing care to neuro-medical surgical patients (adults and geriatrics)Monitor and respond to patient condition changes using telemetry and rapid response protocolsAdminister medications, manage IV therapies, blood product administration, and central line careProvide specialized care for neurological conditions, pre/post-surgical, and trauma patientsPerform wound care, manage surgical drains, and support respiratory needs (CPAP/BiPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy)Educate patients and families on care plans and proceduresFloat to other units or affiliate hospitals as neededMaintain accurate documentation using CernerCollaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, social services)Join our healthcare team in Decatur, Illinois, and take the next step in your travel nursing career.
