Aviation (Flight Technology) Adjunct Assistant Professor Pool

Position Summary The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Adjunct positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years. Applicants in this pool will remain active for two years. After two years applicants will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool. The adjunct faculty member shall be responsible for the following: teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean; helping students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content; assessing student learning outcomes; maintaining a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in their regular teaching field; continuing professional development; utilizing current technology in the performance of job duties; maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position; assisting with articulation and curriculum development and review; serving on college committees and participating in faculty governance including accreditation and student co-curricular activities; assuming other responsibilities as assigned by the area dean; fulfilling other duties and responsibilities of an adjunct faculty member. Position Salary Information: Initial maximum salary placement is based on academic degree, upper/graduate level units earned, and/or related professional occupational experience per the Los Rios College Federation of Teachers Contract (the initial maximum placement is Class V, Step 1). Typical Duties The instructional assignment may include, but is not limited to, teaching the following courses: FLTEC 300 - Introduction to Aviation FLTEC 310 - Instrument Pilot/Instructor Ground School FLTEC 312 - Air Navigation, Airspace, and Communication FLTEC 314 - Large Aircraft Systems FLTEC 320 - Private Pilot Ground School To view a complete list of courses for this discipline, please visit the Programs and Majors webpage for the specific campus: ARC Programs and Majors CRC Programs and Majors FLC Programs and Majors SCC Programs and Majors Minimum Qualifications Have a bachelor's degree or higher ANDtwo (2) years experience as a Professional Pilot (Non-14 CFR Part 121) AND two (2) years experience as an Aircraft Dispatcher or two (2) years experience as a Pilot-in Command (per 14 CFR, Part 121); OR, an associate's degree AND six (6) years experience as a Professional Pilot (Non- 141 CFR Part 121) AND six (6) years experience as an Aircraft Dispatcher or six (6) years experience as Pilot-in-Command or Aircraft Dispatcher (per 14 CFR, Part 121 operations); OR, the equivalent. Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master's degree. All degrees must be from an accredited institution completed by time of hire. Example: If a master's in Psychology is required but your transcript lists Counseling Psychology, and that title is not listed in the Minimum Qualifications, an Equivalency Determination Request Form must be submit. Transcript Requirements: Transcripts must be from an accredited U.S. institutions or approved foreign evaluation agency. Foreign transcript evaluations must be issued by an AICE (Association of International Credential Evaluation, Inc.) or NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) member agency. See the Foreign Transcript Evaluation webpage for details. Transcripts must clearly identify the degree(s) being used to meet the Minimum Qualifications. If more than one degree is required to meet the Minimum Qualifications (e.g., a bachelor's and a master's), transcripts for each degree must be included. Transcripts must show the degree title and indicate whether each degree is completed or in progress. If the degree is in progress the application must state, the month and year the degree is expected to be attained.
