Job Title: Press OperatorAPEL Extrusions Location: Phoenix, AZU.S. Position: Does not qualify for work visa/sponsorship.Shift: Graveyard - Monday-Thursday 8pm-6amThis schedule is expected to eventually transition to 12-hour shifts, Mon- Thu 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM TRAINING SHIFT REQUIRED - Minimum of 2-3 Months of training on day shift schedule (Monday-Thursday 7 AM - 5 PM) before going to overnight shift. With facilities in Calgary Canada, Coburg Oregon, and Phoenix Arizona, APEL serves the commercial, residential, and industrial markets of Western Canada and the Western United States.Job SummaryThe Press Operator runs the press machine according to APEL standards and best practices and is responsible for observing and controlling the flow of material on run-out tables.QualificationsHigh School Degree or equivalent.At least 3 years operating machinery in a manufacturing facility.BenefitsClean & safe work environment.Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401K with matchingPaid HolidaysPaid VacationCompetencies/SkillsKnowledge of all production job descriptions (saw helper, press saw operator, stretcher, utility) and ability to perform those duties as needed.Knowledge of die handling, log loading, press controls, oven procedures, hoists and tolerances.Use of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).Basic math skills.Job Duties/ResponsibilitiesStart press, billet oven, and run out conveyor.Run press dry cycle and monitor all related equipment.Lead out metal from the press.Fill out production schedule and record cast numbers.Ensure that metal meets customer requirements throughout the production process.Assist shift leads in organizing the workforce to maximize production while maintaining a high level of quality.Follow safety protocols for work stops and machine errors.Work with die shop, maintenance, and other departments to ensure the press machine runs properly.Other duties as assigned.ContactPlease apply online at apelextrusions.com.
