Job Title: Business Development RepresentativeJob DescriptionThe Business Development Representative identifies, qualifies, and nurtures high-quality outbound and inbound leads to support the sales team and drive growth. This role focuses on building scalable talent partnerships, particularly with organizations serving veteran and disability-focused talent pipelines, and plays a key part in creating and managing a robust pipeline of prospects. The position collaborates closely with sales and marketing, leveraging CRM and prospecting tools to optimize lead generation and support overall sales goals, with the opportunity to grow into a full-cycle sales role.ResponsibilitiesIdentify and source high-quality outbound leads that align with defined supply-side partner personas, with a primary focus on veteran- and disability-focused talent pipelines.Research and build targeted lists of veteran- and disability-serving nonprofits, workforce programs, and training organizations that represent scalable sources of skilled talent.Collaborate with marketing to review and qualify inbound leads and pass qualified opportunities to the sales team.Align with marketing to optimize lead generation campaigns and ensure cohesive outreach efforts.Conduct initial outreach to potential inbound and outbound leads via phone, email, and social media.Qualify leads by assessing their level of interest, fit with customer solutions, and alignment with the value proposition and offerings.Educate prospective partners and organizations on the value proposition and available solutions.Schedule and set up initial meetings or product demos to present sales offerings to qualified leads.Nurture outbound leads by enrolling them in sales sequences within HubSpot.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads, activities, and interactions in HubSpot CRM.Create and maintain a strong pipeline of potential prospects, including a clearly defined target list of key organizations and contacts.Determine whether prospects align with priority skill sets and requisitions that support the customer mission.Address and overcome objections in order to secure initial meetings with qualified prospects.Collaborate closely with the sales team to support achievement of overall sales targets and objectives.Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify new lead generation strategies and refine outreach approaches.Essential Skills1–2 years of experience in sales, preferably within public, private, or nonprofit (PPN) sales environments, or equivalent sales education and/or training.Proven experience with outbound calls, cold calling, and lead generation.Strong business development skills with the ability to build and manage a pipeline of prospects.Customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse stakeholders.Proficiency with CRM systems, specifically HubSpot, for managing leads and sales activities.Proficiency using ZoomInfo and LinkedIn for prospecting, research, and outreach.Ability to conduct structured outreach via phone, email, and social media.Capability to qualify leads based on interest, fit, and alignment with solutions offered.Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and manage multiple prospects simultaneously.Ability to overcome objections and secure initial meetings or demos.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in veteran, disability, nonprofit, or workforce development environments is a plus.Familiarity with Salesforce CRM is beneficial.Experience using ZoomInfo in conjunction with HubSpot for targeted prospecting is advantageous.Training in sales methodologies or sales education is considered an acceptable equivalent to direct experience.Comfort working in a fast-paced, target-driven sales environment.Strong interest in growing into a full-cycle sales role over time.Work EnvironmentThis role is 100% remote and follows Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours, offering flexibility while maintaining alignment with the core business schedule. You will work in a digital-first environment, using tools such as HubSpot CRM, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn, and potentially Salesforce to manage leads, conduct outreach, and collaborate with the sales and marketing teams. Communication and collaboration occur primarily through online platforms, enabling you to build relationships and drive results from a home or remote office setting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, MD.Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.44 - $28.85/hr.RequirementsEligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
