LOCATION: TRAILER SHOP
SHIFT: DAY - MONDAY-FRIDAY (6:00AM-4:30PM),
SAT (6:00AM-11:00AM) OPTIONAL
About the Opportunity
Grimmway Produce Group is seeking a Trailer Mechanic responsible to perform all types of heavy line trailer fabrication, service and repairs. This position supports trailer maintenance operations through preventative maintenance, inspections, fabrication, and repair work to ensure reliability and safety. What You Will Need
Ability to acquire a Forklift Certification, required.
Minimum of 2 years' experience working with trailers.
Must have mechanical aptitude and knowledge in the proper use of hand, pneumatic and electric power tools commonly used in a shop environment, required.
Understand and follow prescribed shop and company safety regulations and procedures.
Capable of working with minimum supervision. Must have strong decision-making skills that promote safe working conditions, timely/efficient repairs, and accurate accounting of labor and materials.
Must be able to properly manage and maintain assigned shop tools and equipment.
Ability to read, write and understand information in English, required.
Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical and functional capacity evaluation.
What Will Set You Apart
Previous experience in fabrication, performing PM service procedures and 90-day DOT inspections on trailers, preferred.
Basic mathematical skills, preferred.
Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus.
