Guided by principles of excellence and integrity, the firm has established a reputation as a trusted leader in the architectural field.Overview We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and detail-oriented Registered Architect to join our growing architectural firm. This position requires strong technical expertise, a deep understanding of building codes / accessibility, leadership ability, and experience managing projects from planning through construction administration. Our firm's projects include high-profile public agency Transportation, Aviation and Infrastructure; many involving complex building and accessibility code requirements. We also have projects in the Retail, Office, and Higher Education sectors. Our firm offers real responsibility and long-term professional growth. All current partners began their careers here as employees, and we are committed to promoting from within. Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years post-graduate experience in a U.S.-based architectural firm under the supervision of a licensed architect. They would be a highly motivated professional that craves the opportunity for long-term advancement and eventual ownership within the firm.ResponsibilitiesManage projects from planning and schematic design through construction administrationCoordinate with clients, consultants, and internal design teamsSupervise and mentor junior staffConduct site surveys and field investigationsReview applicable building, zoning, and accessibility code requirementsPrepare technical reports, presentations, and project correspondenceAssist with staffing projections and fee proposalsPrepare presentations for client meetings, zoning boards, and planning boardsPerform detailed accessibility compliance reviews, including ADA and agency-specific standardsQualificationsValid registration as a Licensed or Registered Architect in accordance with local licensing boardsBachelor’s or Master’s Degree in ArchitectureProfessional Planning background with ambition to become licensed (not required but a plus)Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, consultants, contractors and team members. Strong command of the English language.Experience with public agencies such as the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, MTA NYCT, SUNY, CUNY, Rutgers, and NJ-DPMCA strong knowledge of New York State, New York City, and New Jersey Building Codes including ICC A117.1 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). PANYNJ Supplemental Accessibility Standards (preferred but not required)Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Autodesk BIM 360, Bluebeam Revu, Autodesk AutoCAD, Microsoft Office 365, SketchUp or other 3D modeling software preferredAbility to manage multiple projects efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in drafting and documentationLegal authorization to work in the United StatesApplication RequirementsWe're excited to see if you're the perfect fit for our firm.
