Project Manager

POSITION SUMMARYSmith & Oby is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to join our growing team in Walton Hills, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and execution of construction and mechanical systems projects from inception through closeout. Working closely with internal departments and field leadership, the Project Manager serves as the primary point of accountability for project delivery, quality, safety, and profitability.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESReview opportunities and qualify projects to bidAttend pre-bid walk-throughsPerform computer-driven estimates and prepare bid documentsPrepare budgets, issue subcontracts, and prepare schedulesTrack, report, and invoice projectsManage change ordersHandle customer inquiries and complaintsPrepare close-out documentsCoordinate with suppliers, vendors, and superintendentsDevelop and maintain a knowledge base of evolving products and servicesQUALIFICATIONSPrevious experience in construction and mechanical systemsAbility to read drawings and estimateAbility to build rapport with clientsAbility to prioritize and multitaskPositive and professional demeanorExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent computer skills4-year degree in Construction Management or Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience; candidates with 4 or more years of hands-on experience in the mechanical construction field will be considered in lieu of a degreeWORK ENVIRONMENTOffice-based role in Walton Hills, OH with occasional site visits to project locationsCollaborative and fast-paced environment requiring flexibility and adaptability
