Digital Systems Engineer
Overview
In this role you will blend systems engineering, architecture, and project management to guide requirements, architecture work and system integration across the lifecycle. You will apply MBSE to ensure interoperability, manage risk in modeling environments, and deliver engineering solutions rapidly. You’ll work with cross-functional teams in a defense context to shape end-to-end systems and enable secure, integrated capabilities. This is a high-impact role at Leidos Defense Systems, solving critical security challenges with advanced modeling and automation.
ResponsibilitiesLead MBSE conceptual model space to capture stakeholder requirements and establish end-to-end architecture with traceabilityLead multi-discipline requirements and architecture working groups aligned with milestonesDevelop, debug, and implement automated scripts using Apache Velocity in Cameo Systems Modeler for report automation and ICD generationDrive system integration by linking engineering toolsets and data models to simulate programs and test digital ecosystemsPerform risk identification and management modeling within architectures to establish standardized trackingTroubleshoot templates and refine syntax to ensure high-fidelity reports and data consistency in model repositoriesFoster teamwork and collaboration across matrixed organizations
Key requirementsActive Top Secret ClearanceMaster’s degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or related STEM with 2+ years of experience OR bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience in core systems engineering/architectureHands-on experience with Cameo Systems Modeler or No Magic toolsExperience building template scripts (Apache Velocity) for report automation and documentation generationExperience leading or coordinating engineering tasks with technical project management capabilitiesExcellent oral communication skills for briefings and design reviewsU.S. Citizenship requiredCandidate must possess an active Top Secret security clearancecollaborationteamworkcommunicationMBSECameo Systems Modeler / No Magic toolsApache Velocity / Velocity Template Language (VTL)
