Find your future with us.Software Engineer - Senior Level Why This is an Exciting Role:As a Software Engineer - Senior Level at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics you will be responsible for:Develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.Works individually or as part of a team.Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.Resolves software problem reports.Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.(POSITIONS ARE CONTINGENT PENDING CONTRACT AWARD) What Makes BI&A Different:As a fully owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, BI&A offers an optimal mix of a small company environment with exceptional opportunities supported by a large corporation.Every day, Boeing Intelligence & Analytics supports global missions by building and delivering intelligence, analytics, and cyber solutions that enable users to advance national security. Experience and Qualifications:To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:Required Education and Years of Experience:Twenty (20) years experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.Required Qualifications: Active TS/SCI with PolygraphAnalyze user requirements to derive software design and performance specifications.Design, code, and modify new or existing software to add features, correct defects, and improve performance.Integrate existing software into new or modified systems and operating environments.Develop and implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.Develop simple and complex database queries and interfaces for existing or proposed data repositories.Assist in developing and executing test procedures for software components and systems.Write, review, and improve software and system documentation, providing recommendations for enhancing documentation and software development processes.Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, conferring with users or system engineers, analyzing systems flow, data usage, and work processes, and investigating problem areas.Confer with system and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and obtain information on project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met.Oversee and lead one or more software development teams, ensuring quality control of all developed and modified software and adherence to the software development process.Recommend new technologies and processes for complex software projects.Be comfortable with Agile systems development methods (e.g., Scrum) for project management and development processes.Technical experience or knowledge of the following:Support software development in languages such as C, C++, and Java.Utilize Structured Query Language (SQL) for database queries and management.Use scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, and Visual Basic for automation and development tasks.Desired Qualifications:Support cloud technologies, including AWS, and understand basic concepts of cluster technologies like Kubernetes.Assist in machine learning or natural language processing (NLP) development projects.Develop and maintain databases using technologies like Sybase, Oracle, and object-oriented database design.Work with Extensible Markup Language (XML) and Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT) applications.Participate in web applications development and work with web frameworks such as J2EE and .NET.Assist in developing solutions using enabling technologies like the Apache Suite.Telework/Remote Availability: Telework/Hybrid is approved.Work Location: Annapolis Junction, MDSummary Pay Range:Please note that the information shown below is a general guideline only.
