Arborist Safety Coordinator
Overview:
Are you an experienced arborist looking to take your career to the next level? As the Local Office Safety Coordinator (LOSC), you will play a critical role in the success of our business by enhancing the skills, performance, and productivity of trainees and team members in our xxx office. In this position, you will have the opportunity to assist with developing, implementing, and managing the company’s safety program and serve as the primary trainer within the office.

Responsibilities:
As an LOSC, you will play an important role in:
Partnering with the local manager and arborist representatives to manage and develop the office safety program
Providing safe on-site training, mentoring, and supervision of crew members of all skill levels
Ensuring that each crew member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignment
Conducting periodic crew, facility, and pesticide storage audits
Ensuring that new employee orientations are conducted in a meaningful way
Scheduling and conduct daily Tailgate Safety Meetings
Ensuring that all tree care work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards
Performing ground, tree climbing, and aerial lift duties in support of specific job assignments
Safely performing all aspects of arboriculture, including:
Tree identification
Tree risk assessments
Pruning
Removals
Cabling and bracing
Root collar excavations
Properly maintaining and operating tools and equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
Learning, understanding, and adhering to all safety rules and company safety policies
Qualifications:
At least five (5) years of experience in the tree care industry
Valid driver's license (Class B CDL preferred)
Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
Demonstrated ability to conduct group and individual training or prior crew leader experience
Proven initiative, positive attitude, team-oriented, and self-motivated
ISA Certified Arborist certification is preferred but not required
