Insurance Coverage Associate (Mid-Level)

Venable LLP’s Insurance Coverage practice is seeking a mid-level associate to with a minimum of three years of experience to join the team in New York.This role focuses on representing policyholders in complex insurance matters, including coverage analysis, litigation, and transactional support. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in a large law firm environment and a demonstrated interest in policyholder-side insurance work.Key Responsibilities:Analyze and provide strategic recommendations on a wide range of insurance policies, including renewals and coverage placementsRepresent policyholders in insurance coverage disputes and litigationConduct insurance due diligence in connection with corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitionsDraft and negotiate insurance and indemnification provisions in purchase and other transactional agreementsAdvise on and review Representations & Warranties insurance policies, including coverage analysis, diligence, and claims-related issuesCollaborate with corporate and litigation teams to advise clients on risk allocation and coverage strategiesQualifications:J.D. from an accredited law schoolAdmitted to practice in New York and in good standing3-5 years experience at a large law firm / insurance practice group, or equivalent in-house experienceExperience with insurance coverage matters, including policy analysis and/or litigationStrong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skillsExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesPreferred (Not Required):Experience with private equity clientsVenable LLP is an American Lawyer Global 100 law firm headquartered in Washington, DC, with offices in California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, New York, and Virginia.
