Overview:
Bowhead seeks a System Engineer (MBSE) to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division's E20 Division. Specifically, the engineer would be directly supportinf the Precision Fire Control Innovative Naval Prototype (PFC-INP) project which is an affordable fire-control capability for the Navy and Marine Corp. Key technology enablers involve novel approaches to performing post-launch guidance and control of ballistic projectiles and small-diameter missiles, and development of test & evaluation methodologies to verify system performance in a cost-constrained and technically challenging environment. Currently, the project is completing year 1 of a five-year plan and requires additional resources to execute Systems Engineering tasking in accordance with the System Engineering Plan (SEP). The project uses a model-based approach to Systems Engineering.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the Lead System Engineer’s representative to one of three functional working groups (Command & Launch, Interceptor, and Test & Evaluation). This person is responsible for ensuring all system engineering tasks related to each group’s deliverables are performed in accordance with the SEP.
Serve as the project’s POC for risk management.
Participate as a member of the project’s System Engineering Working Group (SEWG).

Qualifications:
Five or more years’ experience as a systems engineer, with two or more years working with model-based system engineering processes.
Bachelors Degree in Systems Engineering
Previous experience as a risk analyst or project risk manager
Experience writing and implementing system safety plans and processes, including hazard analysis techniques
Experience with weapon systems development across Navy and/or Marine Corp teams
Demonstrated understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering processes and applications
Experience working with Innoslate highly desired
Familiarity with the SysML or Lifecycle Modeling languages desired, but not required
Ability to work independently and within established teams to meet established goals within schedule driven timelines
Experience developing and presenting technical briefs
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
