In this role, you'll ensure that our trucks and equipment are safe, reliable, and ready to keep our community moving. If you're hands-on, organized, and passionate about leading a high-performing team, this is the perfect opportunity for you!What You'll DoLead the Shop: Supervise and assign daily work to technicians, ensuring timely completion of repairs and preventive maintenance.Keep Equipment Safe & Reliable: Oversee inspections, emergency repairs, and maintenance of Class 6-8 trucks and other heavy-duty equipment.Train & Develop: Provide hands-on guidance, mentoring, and ongoing skills development for your team.Stay Compliant: Ensure work meets DOT, CHP, OSHA, and Cal/OSHA standards, maintaining accurate records and safety protocols.Collaborate Across Teams: Communicate repair timelines and operational updates to fleet management and operations teams.Manage Inventory & Supplies: Maintain parts inventory, track supplies, and coordinate vendor orders.Promote a Positive Culture: Foster teamwork, uphold company values, and maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop.What You'll BringEducation: High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in diesel technology or related field preferred.Experience:3+ years in heavy-duty truck or equipment maintenance2+ year in a supervisory or lead technician roleExperience with Class 6-8 vehicles preferredSkills:Proficiency with maintenance software (e.g., Dossier) and diagnostic tools (Cummins Insite, Allison DOC, Bendix ACom)Strong knowledge of DOT, OSHA/Cal-OSHA regulations, and preventive maintenance best practicesExcellent communication, organization, and team leadership skillsMicrosoft Office proficiency; ADP familiarity a plusBilingual (Spanish) preferredClass C license required; Class B CDL preferredPhysical RequirementsComfortable working in an active shop environmentRegularly bend, lift, grip, and move materials and toolsAbility to perform repetitive motions and operate diagnostic equipmentPay & PerksSalary: $70,000 - $75,000 per yearBenefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and company-sponsored life insuranceTime Off: Paid vacation, holidays, and sick daysExtras: Employee discounts, wellness programs, and community volunteering opportunitiesJoin a Team That Keeps Mid-Valley Disposal Moving!
