Billing Specialist

Medical Biller PositionLifeCare is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing software, insurance regulations, and exceptional communication skills to effectively respond to inquiries from patients and insurance providers. This position also requires a high level of accuracy and discretion in handling patient data and maintaining confidentiality.Medical Biller Key Responsibilities:Ensure full compliance with all applicable federal and state healthcare billing and reimbursement regulations.Follow internal policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the revenue cycle.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, to ensure smooth integration and execution of revenue-related processes.Partner with billing and coding team members to maintain uninterrupted daily workflows.Engage with payers and insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies and reimbursement issues.Medical Billing Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Proficient in HCPCS, ICD-10 coding, and medical terminology.Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance, Medicare/Medicaid, and commercial insurance carriers.Demonstrated ability to follow organizational policies and procedures.Capable of self-monitoring performance and making improvements as needed.Strong critical thinking, communication, and conflict resolution skills.Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.Medical Billing Education and Experience:Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management preferred.Certification in Medical Billing and Coding or equivalent relevant experience.Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare billing, reimbursement processes, and regulatory compliance.Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.Medical Billing Work Environment:Open-concept office design that encourages collaboration and clear communication among team members.Must be able to sit for extended periods.Regular use of computers, monitors, keyboards, and other office equipment.
