Warehouse Lead
JOB SUMMARY:The Crossdock & Warehouse Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing all daily warehouse and crossdock activities, including receiving, inspections, staging, yard management, dock scheduling, freight coordination, and outbound shipments. This role ensures the efficient movement of freight through the facility while maintaining compliance with U.S. and Mexican import/export requirements.The position serves as the operational leader on the warehouse floor, coordinating personnel, transportation providers, customs brokers, customers, and vendors to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant cross-border operations. The Lead is responsible for managing warehouse productivity, customer service, operational performance, and safety while maintaining a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced environment.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead and coordinate daily crossdock operations, including receiving, inspections, staging, consolidation, and outbound shipments.Supervise warehouse associates and forklift operators, ensuring productivity, quality, and safety standards are met.Coordinate dock door assignments, trailer movements, loading schedules, and freight prioritization.Ensure shipping documentation is complete and accurate prior to freight release, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, BOLs, and customer-specific documentation.Coordinate with customs brokers and transportation providers to resolve documentation discrepancies and prevent shipment delays.Ensure compliance with Mexican customs requirements and export regulations.Coordinate with transportation providers, customs brokers, carriers, and customers to ensure timely movement of freight.Manage inspection activities, including product verification, quantity validation, labeling compliance, and discrepancy reporting.Monitor shipment status and proactively communicate delays, issues, and resolutions to customers and management.Maintain accurate operational records and reports using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Excel.Analyze operational performance metrics and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and service levels.Train, coach, and develop warehouse personnel while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.Maintain inventory accuracy for crossdock and temporary storage activities.Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.Support customer visits, operational meetings, and audits as required.Manage stressful and time-sensitive situations while maintaining a professional and solution-oriented approach.Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:Strong knowledge of crossdock operations, transportation, warehouse processes, and export logistics.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Minimum 2-5 years of warehouse, transportation, crossdock, or logistics experience.Minimum 1-2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.Experience in cross-border logistics between the United States and Mexico preferred.Basic math, advanced English language, and reading skills.High School diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSExcellent hand-eye coordination, peripheral vision, and ability with spatial relationships.Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.Ability to react quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.Ability to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away.Working knowledge of U.S.–Mexico cross-border logistics operations.Working knowledge of Mexican customs documentation and export requirements.Experience reviewing Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing lists, commercial invoices, shipping manifests, and freight documentation.Knowledge of transportation coordination, carrier communication, dock scheduling, and freight planning.Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, filters, and reporting.Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Strong customer service mindset and ability to communicate effectively with customers, carriers, brokers, and vendors.Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage operational stress.Forklift certification preferred.Benefits401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offParental leaveVision insuranceAddress: 114 N America Rd, Laredo, TX 78045
