Job TitleMaintenance TechnicianFunction/Dept.Manufacturing/MaintenanceReports toMaintenance SupervisorSupervisesN/AMissionMaintenance Technician performs mid-level maintenance and repair duties to support the safe and efficient operation of company facilities, equipment, and systems. This role assists with preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and routine repairs under the guidance of senior maintenance personnel. The technician is responsible for responding to work orders, maintaining equipment functionality, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.Principle ActivitiesPerform advanced maintenance and repair tasks on facility equipment, machinery, and building systems.Assist with preventive maintenance programs, including inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments.Diagnose and repair minor mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural issues.Respond to maintenance requests and service calls in a timely and professional manner.Assist in maintaining HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and electrical systems.Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facility areas to identify potential issues or safety hazards.Replace or repair filters, belts, motors, switches, light fixtures, outlets, and plumbing fixtures.Assist senior technicians with equipment installation, upgrades, and major repair projects.Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and documentation.Ensure all work is completed according to company policies, OSHA standards, and safety procedures.Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.Support facility upkeep, including minor carpentry, painting, drywall repair, and grounds maintenance when necessary.Assist in advance equipment shutdown and startup procedures during repairs or maintenance.Report recurring equipment problems or potential failures to supervisors.Participate in training programs and safety meetings.Financial/Risk ControlDepartmental Budget – Labor & ExpensesDepartment ObjectivesQualificationsSkills and Knowledgeadvanced knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and facility maintenanceAbility to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipmentAdvanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and commitment to safetyAbility to prioritize tasks and manage time effectivelyAdvanced computer skills for maintenance tracking systems or work order softwareAbility to work independently or as part of a teamRequired Education/ CertificationHigh school diploma or GEDValid driver’s license (if required for facility operations)Basic understanding of workplace safety practicesRequired Experience5-8 years of maintenance, mechanical, or facilities experiencePhysical RequirementsMust be able to walk through the entire facilityAbility to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 poundsAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spacesAbility to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and noiseManual dexterity required for handling tools and equipment
